About The St. Louis Bourbon Festival

The Venue

In addition to the Lemp Grand Hall and Lofts, this year's festival will introduce an all new outdoor experience including live music, craft vendors, local food trucks serving providing menus selected just for the event.

New for 20223, we will also be hosting individual tasting sessions inside the hauntingly famous Lemp Mansion itself. These private tasting sessions will focus on history, distillation/barreling, blending/finishing, cocktail creation, culinary pairings and other popular topics in the world of Bourbon.

The Lemp dynasty began when Johann Lemp arrived in St. Louis from Eschwege, Germany in 1838.

At his small grocery store, Lemp sold a home made golden lager, which was a welcome departure from the darker, heavier beers that were available at the time.

The Lemp Mansion itself was built in the 1860's and purchased by William J. Lemp as a brewery office and residence. The site of multiple tragedies, the brewery was sold in 1922, but has since been returned to its former glory. More on the history of the Lemp Mansion and the Lemp Dynasty can be found at their website.
